Schoooool's Out for the Summer!!!!!!

Kindergarten ended with a BANG! Alyssa's class did an ABC Countdown, where the last 26 days of the year were represented by each letter of the Alphabet. A few of her favorites were: Furry Friend and Flip Flop Day (bring a stuffed animal and wear your favorite flip flops), Ice Cream Day, Hat Day, Jump Rope Day, Queen Day (all the girls wore dresses, the teacher gave them crowns, painted their nails, and they got ice cream), and X-Tremely X-Citing Centers Day (when they opened up the kindergarten hall, assigned a buddy system, and had freedom to walk around to all the classrooms and do lots of fun centers)!!

The last Friday of the school year was Field Day! I wasn't able to walk around with Alyssa because I had volunteered to work a station. Jonah helped me tell the kids how to do their activity.

This is Alyssa with her friend, Emily! It was such a blessing to have Alyssa and Emily in the same class this year, as they became great friends the year before in their Pre-K Class!

This is Jonah demonstrating how to work the Stomp Blocks. He got pretty good at it!!!

A few days later was Alyssa's end of the School year program and class party. All of the kindergarten classes sang songs, as a large group, and also as separate classes. It was adorable. Here a few pictures and videos from the program.

Alyssa stared at me the whole time throughout the entire program. I felt like I was the only person in the audience. It was adorable. And yes, of course, I was soooo proud of her!!

After the program, we headed to the classroom for the class party and diploma hand out.

With her teacher, Mrs. Williams. We are also blessed by attending the same church as her teacher, and we are looking forward to having her over for dinner this Summer!

blog catchup

Things have been busy with these two youngins! We have been really busy since Alyssa came home from Disney. If I ever figure out how to post her musical Disney Diary, then I will do so. Until then, this is what we have been up to since she has been home...

Easter was so much fun! The kids did many egghunts this year. I have to say that this was the first year Jonah really understood what was going on. Find an egg. Get candy. He loved it. Alyssa, of course is a pro by now, and enjoyed teaching her brother all about egg hunting AND egg dying.

We ended up with quite an assortment of dyed eggs that rare snowy day.....

Several days later, we went to the park to play with cousins and have a picnic with Grandma!

Easter Sunday was busy, as Momma sang in 7 services that Sunday, but after a much needed nap, and with still one more service to do, we got a few pictures of our own...

Mother's day was so busy! I served in a drama team for two services at church, and had a rehearsal that afternoon, but Alyssa wrote me the sweetest "Mudrs day" card I have ever received. She even wrote me a song. I wish I could relay it the way she does - but only she does it best. On Saturday (the day before mother's day) we went to watch my cousin Jim (the parapalegic one) help coach the Miracle League! My kids were so proud of him, and nothing touched my heart more, than the prayer that Alyssa prayed to God that night - begging Him to make all those sick people well. How did I get so blessed by such a wonderful girl?

This is my kids and me with Jim. I'm so glad he loves my kids like he does! He gets so excited whenever he visits us or we visit him!

Soon summer will be here. And kindergarten won't just be over, but I'll have a 1st grader on my hands! Wow, I cannot believe how fast time flies! Thank you Lord!

INK!! A Children's Museum Adventure

Alyssa is in Disney World right now with her Nana and Grandaddy, so Jonah and I have been doing some stuff! Today, we went to a Children's Museum! It was so much fun. Jonah really liked playing with every thing. Perhaps his favorite thing was the model train set up. Check out these pictures of us playing.

Calling Sheriff Jonah! Calling Sheriff Jonah! Jonah: "What? an emergency? I'll save you!"

Later this evening Jonah said he wants to be a Police Man when he grows up so he can drive a fast car. He also said he'd drive me around in it. It was a little encouraging for him to finally have a realistic future desire. Normally, he says he is going to be Peter Pan when he grows up. Or Leo, from the Little Einsteins. :)

This is what he had to do to reach the pedals in the REAL police car!

A real grocery shopping experience. Complete with a real checkout counter and scanner! I got to check out the groceries until Jonah realized you could really push the buttons.

Headed to the bank after our grocery trip. They gave out real ATM cards and had a working ATM inside this bank. You could put in a pin number and it gave you pretend money! We then headed to the diner for some good eatin'!

At the Diner - complete with a Juke Box that played music! (my favorite!)

Next we decided to take a short flight in the airplane.

Jonah being the co-pilot on our sky diving adventure.

And, for the 25th time, back to the train model where you could push buttons and make the town function. His favorite two buttons were the ones that drove the train and the fire house -- where the garage opened and closed when the fire truck came in and out of it.

It was a fun day! We packed a lunch and took a break half way through it to eat and went back to playing. In the three hours that we were there he didn't even do every activity. He never made it to the barber shop, the vet's office, the radiology clinic, the court room, the theater, or the book room. It was a fun trip! I highly recommend an outing to INK anytime!

After Alyssa gets back from her trip to Disney I am going to create a Disney Diary and I'll post it here. So check back soon for the update from her trip! We miss her a lot, but she is having sooo much fun!

Man, Did We Ever Have Some Fun in the Snow!

We had a little dusting last January, in which Alyssa was able make a lot of "green" snow angels over our yard and the next door neighbors as well, but THIS year, boy did we have fun! We had two extremely enjoyable days of snow fun. We made snowballs to throw at each other and all the neighbor children, built a snowman that we named "Frank", some outdoor hot cocoa, and had a lot of fun sledding with neighbors, Connor, Evan, Marley, and Mackenzie....
